CLUTCHED HER CRUSH'S CRUTCH

Rose was a teenager in 'Taiwo Estate' where her parents reside. She was a penultimate student of a top Nigerian university, where she was studying 'Common Law'. A very beautiful girl, tall and dark. With her dimples and the gap teeth, she would please anyone when she smiles. Her portable 'recommended' spectacles were are identity, her elegant look and skin then earned her the nick, *Ebony.*
So gorgeous !
Of course, no doubt she was pretty. But unfortunately, that standard would embarrass her performance in class, when placed side by side.
There was every tendency that she would spend an extra year or more on campus due to her multiple 'Carry Overs'.
On the other hand, Kunle was a final year student of 'Adult And Primary Education'. Although not very handsome but he sat on top of his class with his incredible 'Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA)' of 4.72. Even though the enviable standard conspicuously didn't reflect on his personality. Unlike Ebony, Kunle's accent was wack and his grammar was way too bad for his 'price index'.
Oh, my goodness !
It reminds me of a popular saying, the shortest quote ever, but so much deep in meaning ;
'Nobody is perfect'.
Just like a popular 'Yoruba' proverb that goes thus :
'He who has head has no cap but he that has cap also has no head'.
What a pity !
In the long run, destiny connected the two characters together. Both sat close to each other during a ceremony at the school's auditorium. They chatted and subsequently exchanged contacts.
*Both were okay as friends until the spirit of love overwhelmed Kunle. And by the romantic intoxication, the undisputable scholar decided to extend his embrace of affection to the indomitable queen.*
*But for all his indefatigable attempt, he received unpalatable replies.*
Ebony's reason being that Kunle was not presentable as a 'Boy Friend'. With his accent and blunders, she was not ready to stoop so low. Despite confessing to him that she equally loved him, she reiterated her comments on the accent and grammars as the only issues.
That obviously was too much for Kunle to bear. He was already deep in thought when a mildly touch pats him as he was walking down the stairs after a bad time in the Library. He immediately had an heart attack and fell off the stairs.
As he rolled down, he could barely recognize his offender while she ran after him.
In her innocent mind and after a necessary ponder, Rose had come to surprise Kunle with an 'according nod' to his romantic request. If she had known that her tender touch would cause that damage, she would have preferred to never say 'YES'.
Kunle was however rushed off to the general hospital and was admitted into the coma. But on the 6th day, which happened to be earlier this morning (25th of July 2018), Kunle left the coma alive, though he was given a permanent crutch to support his movements.
Albeit it was very emotional for him, but he found a solace in his 'Girl Friend'. Rose was really bittered too but she promised to always be by his side. She wept over and over again. It was indeed emotional for her as she clutched her crush's crutch.
